Steps to make Basic home baked bread:
  1. In a bowl mix the half cup of warm water, a teaspoon of sugar and the yeast. Allow to sit for around 5 mins or until it starts foaming.
  2. In another bowl (I used a sufuria) add the three cups of water, sugar, melted blueband(should have cooled down) and 3 cups of flour
  3. Mix together into a paste and add the yeast
  4. Slowly add the remaining flour to form a dough
  5. Add half of the oil to prevent flour from sticking to your hands and the bowl
  6. Knead the dough for 8 minutes on a lightly floured surface
  7. Form a ball with the dough
  8. Oil the sides and bottom of bowl and place your dough inside
  9. Cover with a moist towel and let rise for about an hour or until double in size. Photos below compare the size before and after
  10. Knead dough on a lightly floured surface to get rid of air bubbles initially formed for 5 minutes
  11. Cut dough into two depending on the size of bread tin. I used one large and one small tin
  12. Grease your tin using blueband and some little flour
  13. On a lightly floured surface roll dough into a rectangular shape
  14. Fold according to width of bread tin and fold edges together
  15. Put the "logs" into bread tins and punch around so it fits nicely into the tin(should fill half of the tin only to leave some space for yeast to grow and poof the dough)
  16. Allow to rise for about an hour
  17. Preheat oven at 225°C for 10 minutes. Add quarter a cup of water on an extra baking tin into the oven while it preheats to steam the oven
  18. Set temperature at 190°C, time at 30 minutes and top and bottom heat
  19. Put your loaves in the middle rack to bake
  20. When bread starts to brown insert a knife to check whether it's cooked. If the knife comes out clean, your bread is done☺️
  21. However, if your bread is cooked and not thoroughly browned, increase your temperature. Constantly observe to prevent burning your bread
  22. Remove loaves from bread tins. Place loaves on a baking tray to cool
  23. Slice loaves and serve with tea. Enjoy💕
