  15. Make ready oil to shallow fry

  1. Mix together semolina, onion, green chilies, ginger, red chili flakes, coriander stems, coriander leaves, yoghurt, salt and turmeric powder.
  2. Heat 1 tbsp. oil and temper with mustard seeds and asafoetida. After it stops spluttering, pour it over the prepared batter & mix well.
  3. Spread a little of the batter on each slice of bread.
  4. Heat a tawa and drizzle a tsp. of oil. Shallow fry the batter side first for a minute or till it turns light golden in colour. Then flip it over and fry the other side too.
  5. Transfer to a serving plate. Cut them in half and serve them with green chutney or sauce….
